McInerny is Hawaii’s premier resort retailer with 18 locations throughout the islands on Kauai, Maui, the Big Island, Oahu and Guam. Founded in 1857, the chain of stores has included Andrade, Carol and Mary and McInerny.
During its 143 years McInerny has evolved from a single store offering general merchandise to a chain of stores offering resort fashions from European and American designers.
In 1989 the three Hawaii based chains merged under McInerny and introduced the “shop concept format” to the islands. Local residents, many of them multi-lingual, staff the stores.
For the past 20 years the company has been the anchor tenant for the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center in the heart of Waikiki.
